Tech One IT has been creating apprenticeship opportunities within the technology sector for many years, serving both military apprentices and civilians. Recently, the organization has dedicated many resources to ensuring the military is well represented within the organization.
A new division to focus on the specific needs of transitioning servicemembers and veterans.
The process of transitioning is entirely different from graduating from college or a technical school. At Tech One IT, throughout our history of placing apprentices, we have been able to provide a personalized interview and onboarding experience. Recently, we have been lucky enough to undergo growth within our organization, allowing us to provide a process for supporting the MilVet community.
Military Experience Will Be Translated
We choose our apprentices using the T-shaped methodology, which puts character above experience. This allows us to conceptualize the experience that a veteran (or transitioning soldier) might have and equalize the playing field.
For example, a member of the MilVet community might have problem-solving experience through a specific mission that does not come with a certificate. Sometimes overlooked by recruiters, we value the experiences that have strengthened your character.
Leadership that understands the MilVet community
Recently, Tech One IT hired Tim Kane as the Director of Military & Veteran Services. Tim is a U.S. Army veteran and experienced military liaison. He has worked with veterans and transitioning service men and women as they embark on a civilian career, specifically within IT.

Tim will also oversee Tech One IT’s SkillBridge component, serve as a liaison to the Transition Assistance Program & Education Services offices on military installations, and lead efforts in business development and evangelism in the military-connected community.
Personalized Opportunities
While Tech One IT is growing, we are not changing our approach to working with individuals. We build the very best apprenticeship teams by ensuring each person on the team is a good fit for the team, the project, and the company they’ll join. Our goal is to place every person in a job they love, that challenges them, helps them to grow, and sparks a passion for technology.
