Position Description Responsible for creating and upkeeping IT network documentation. Prior network Technical Documentation experience preferred. The Documentation Specialist is responsible for the writing, distribution, collection, storage, and assisting in the creation of a Network Operations knowledge base. Requires the ability to create detailed project technical documents and specifications..
Skills Required Excellent writing skills using proper English grammar, engineering, and technical terms of reference. Review and edit Network Engineering technical documentation required to meet internal standards. Strong understanding of creating and editing documents utilizing MS Visio. Demonstrated background in technical writing including authoring, editing, and managing technical system documents and procedures. Experience developing detailed operational run/maintain procedures for hardware systems. Ability to understand and create technical schematics and process flow diagrams. Proficient in writing Standard Operating Procedures for network operations. Assist in the setup and maintenance of the Network Operations MS Sharepoint knowledge base. Must understand and perform content management functions such as document organization, MS SharePoint and other central stores for documentation. Experience shall include document editing, structure and logic flow for both technical and non-technical audiences. Must be skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of products including Powerpoint, Excel, and Word. Maintain a proactive approach to problem solving.
Skills Preferred
Experience Required Two years of experience utilizing MS Office Suite tools including, Visio and MS SharePoint. Experience developing detailed operational run/maintain procedures for hardware systems. Experience shall include document editing, structure and logic flow for both technical and non-technical audiences.
