The Applications & Business Analyst acts as a liaison between the city departments and IT, is responsible for business and systems analysis; business process change recommendations; technology recommendations; design, general maintenance, support and administration of the City's business applications. Work includes defining objectives, gathering requirements from business units, documenting business and technical requirements accurately, communicating requirements, testing the solution to validate objectives, verifying that the implemented solution meets the requirements, software training, maintenance and support.

This position is to support the City Clerk's Office and its technology needs. Software used in the City Clerk's Office includes Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, DocuSign, OpenText Content Management Suite, an agenda management product and other smaller applications. Client hardware includes Client desktop computers, monitors and laptops.

Technical Business Analysis
" Work closely with the City's business unit to determine business needs and technology challenges and elicit requirements from end-users.
" Set stakeholder expectations correctly.
" Develop meeting objectives and agendas.
" Work with vendors, technical support staff, and end users to monitor implementation processes.
" Complete test plans, ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner, validate that a new service is "fit for purpose and that the requirements are being met.
" Prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Application and Equipment Support
" Research, plan, install, and configure software, hardware, peripheral equipment and systems.
" Perform application System Administration duties including testing and applying patches and upgrades, scheduling and completing required maintenance, etc.
" Provide support for performance issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity.
" Configure applications, develop workflows, and work with vendors, technical support staff, and end users to troubleshoot issues.
