JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for collaborating in assessing, recommending and defining GIS projects and ensuring that major goals, deliverables and deadlines are met.
The person in this position is also responsible for maintaining and developing the department's GIS products through database, remote sensing, and programming technologies while understanding cartography and adhering to map standards. The duties may include: entering and/or analyzing GIS data, producing maps, and database management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
" GIS systems, spatial data, relational database management systems, metadata and development platforms
" Mapping software including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
" Mapping tools including ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, mobile GIS (Survey 123, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcPy
" Cartographic principles, geographic projections, data sources and formats, information analysis, relational databases and geo-databases
" Latest data processing hardware and software technology advances, a thorough knowledge of GIS technologies, relational database and geodatabase management, analysis and modeling
" Geographic information analysis and modeling methods and techniques, cartographic presentations and image analysis
Skills in:
" Preparing maps and drawings based on field data, aerial photography analysis, land surveys, etc.
