Description
Program Manager with management experience preferred, but will take a strong Project Manager.
PROGRAM MANAGER – IT

JOB DUTIES:

- Leads planning and/or implementation of the system replacement by working closely with the contracted vendor
- Manages programs based on repeatable standards and practices where possible, and may define new approaches
- Supervises one Project Manager and four Business Analysts
- Facilitates the definition of program missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements
- Resolves conflicts within and between projects, functional areas, or with the vendor
- Develops methods to monitor program or area progress and takes corrective action
- Manages program budget and resource allocation
- Ensures that the agreed upon service levels and customer requirements are met
- Works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes
- Analyzes potential risks and future impact of decisions
- Responds promptly to customer needs and takes a customer centric approach to problem solving
- Identifies opportunities and implements solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Reviews and recommends equipment, resources, and software
- Identifies required resources, trains, schedules, and monitors resources
- Attends training and meetings
- Drives on State business with possible overnight stays
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S) – THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED:
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S) - IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- Bachelor's degree plus 10 or more years of experience in large project coordination (over $10 million budget), and/or program management
- Arizona State Project Management Certification and/or certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
