The City of Phoenix is seeking a Messaging Services System Administrator to provide software support for operations and maintenance of the City's Office 365 Outlook and Exchange Online Email services. The City utilizes Outlook/Exchange Online to provide critical messaging services to over 13,000 city employees and contractors. The messaging environment operates within Microsoft's Office 365 environment hosted in Microsoft's government cloud. The city also currently uses an on-premise Aurea ListServ system to provide marketing email services for the City.

The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
" Administration of system access and accounts
" System Availability and Capacity Managerment reporting and planning
" System Administration duties relatated to Incident, Change, and Problem Management, and for Request Fulfillment
" Operating, managing, processing, provisioning, and troubleshooting enterprise email, mobile and collaboration services.
" Managing and operating email routing devices and services
" Maintaining email distribution lists
" Managing roles and services, user permissions, e-mail queues, mobile messaging, and dynamic distribution groups
" Managing and provisioning client software
" Maintaining attachment, domain and email address block lists
" Managing domain white-lists and queues
" Troubleshooting issues with enterprise email
" Coordinating restoration of email services
" Resolving emergency incidents (e.g., restoring deleted messages and mailboxes)
" Remotely wiping handheld device software and data
" Documenting incident resolutions and providing updates
" Opening, closing, monitoring, tracking and reporting change requests and incident tickets in Remedyforce
" Accessing and monitoring messaging system statistics and reporting on system, real-time and historical performance, account mailbox volumes and limit thresholds, utilization statistics and availability events
" Designating alias addresses for end-user mailboxes
" Supporting issues related to group mailboxes and distribution lists to include designating an end-user(s) as the group mailbox owner
" Managing dormant or inactive user account(s)
" Performing data searches within messaging systems as required ot meet Public Records Requests, Litigation e-discovery, and internal city investigations.

The work schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, due to operational requirements, scheduled work hours will be modified as needed to accommodate weekend and evening work which must be performed outside of normal business hours.
