This is an entry level position for a Microsoft Windows Engineer / Administrator in an enterprise environment with a new implementation of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune). Candidate will need to be a self-starter who can work independently with the passion and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and concepts with little to no formal training.
As you learn more about Microsoft Endpoint Manager and our implementation, you will be responsible for providing support for its configuration, maintenance, and management of enterprise devices (iOS & Android mobile devices and Windows 10 and macOS clients), in addition to troubleshooting issues, working with users and documenting processes.
As you gain expertise in Intune and our environment, you will move on to application packaging, deploying Android and Apple applications and configuration/deployment of MDM policies
Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer operating systems and related software. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
Performs professional level work. Assists with solutions requiring analysis and research. Receives general instructions on day to day work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Configures, deploys, monitors, and maintains IT Infrastructure elements such as mobile voice/ data communications, telecom/network infrastructure, servers/operating systems/utilities, security and system monitoring software/hardware.
Assists in coordinating, scheduling, installing and testing of hardware and software changes. May also perform capacity and resource planning, risk operations risk, and create contingency plans for systems of moderate complexity.
Assists with departmental research in field of expertise. This includes areas such as software applications or hardware, security policies/procedures, and effective techniques for integrating new data and radio communication.
Contributes to the development and implementation of business practices for systems management, backup, recovery, archival procedures.
Documents key attributes of assigned systems/processes in conformance with established standards and procedures. Example of this include:
* Status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
* Schematic depiction of communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols for simple to moderately complex systems.
Participates in rotating on-call support. Responsible for resolution of service outages and other service problems during an on-call period. On call may occur during standard or non-standard business hours.
Works in an office environment sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for long periods of time. May travel by car, plane or other forms of transportation to attend business meetings or conferences. Approximately 50-80 percent of time spent on the job involves the use of a personal computer.
2-3 years' experience in a T2/Desktop Support role with a good emphasis on end user support and Windows 10.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to think independently, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex business and technical problems.
Familiarity and/or hand-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) is a plus
Familiarity and/or hands-on experience with SCCM is a plus
